Welcome to the
Melton Mowbray Group of the Ramblers
Association
What do we Offer?
We organise
regular walks in the East Midlands with occasional forays further
a-field. All walks are under the supervision of a leader
Our annual walks programme consists
of:
Weekend walks of
between 7 and 15 miles, Summer evening walks of 4 to 6 miles and winter
Thursday morning walks of 6 to 8 miles.
We also organise
one shorter walk each month, suitable for all ages, these average 3 to 4
miles and are to encourage parents to walk with their children, people
wishing to start walking and those returning to walking after a long
break.
Some walks will take in the local
hostelry for lunch or supper or we may take a picnic lunch to enjoy in
the heart of the countryside.
Enjoy the benefits of walking with
a group.
You are welcome to join us on any
walk without commitment, you can then decide if membership of the
Ramblers Association is for you.
Aims & Objectives
To promote walking in your area:
The Melton Mowbray Group of the
Ramblers Association was formed in 1980 and actively promotes walking in
Leicestershire, Rutland and surrounding counties.
We also monitor local footpaths to
ensure they are maintained in good order and remain accessible to all.
The Ramblers organisation maintains
dialogue with National and Local Authorities and other related
organisations to ensure footpaths are maintained, fit for use and
accessible to all.
