WE NEED YOU We believe in the power of walking: What other activity stirs the soul so easily? What else lifts the spirit, boosts the body and frees the mind? The Ramblers Association works for all walkers, we're a small charity with a big remit. Our core work receives no direct government funding: it is the membership fees of our supporters that allow us to continue our valuable campaigns. We want to do more to encourage family walking, we want to help more people build walking into their daily lives, we want councils to take better care of their footpaths and we want to campaign for greater access to our beautiful countryside and coastline. We can only achieve this with your support. More members means more funds, which means more effective campaigns and a much stronger voice for walkers. Our aims: Promote Walking Improve Footpaths Protect the Countryside Improve Access

YOU NEED US Why join The Ramblers Association? Choosing a charity to support is an important decision. With ever-increasing demands on our money, we need to know that what we give isn't just going to a good cause, but to the right cause. If you're passionate about walking, then the Ramblers Association is the right cause. Your membership fee enables us to continue to promote walking and to protect footpaths from closure, the countryside from unsightly developments and our nation from rising levels of obesity. We empower our members through the information and opportunities on offer via our magazine, yearbook, website and local walking groups. You get a great deal when you join us: Walk Britain - Annual publication includes information, maps, photographs, contact details and accommodation listings (many discounted). It provides method and motivation to make the most of Britain's beautiful countryside. Walk Magazine - Quarterly publication, inspiration and information at your fingertips. Walking opportunities - While our members all love walking, they participate in different ways. Some opt to walk alone while others prefer to walk with family of friends: these people value the information, guidance we offer through our website, publications and enquiry line when making their own walking plans. However, many members would rather share the experience of walking with others and so find our group walks (around 450 walks each weekend across England, Scotland and Wales) the perfect way to make the most of the social side of walking. |
